Charles Boyd is someone who has worked with many youth in the community over the 20 plus years he has lived in Costa Rica. He has tried his best to bring a measure of peace to children who have come from chaotic homes. He understands these young people due to his own life experience. He has reached out and been of service in the best way he can, through organizations like Support Jaco Youth. He understands that peace begins with each of us trying to do our part to make our community a better place to live.
Peace is illusive because it seems that as soon as we personally get a measure of peace in our lives, another trial is brought to the forefront. Charles unwavering faith in God has always led him to continue moving forward. He always tackles the next obstacle, as an example for others, that perseverance and trust in God will overcome. We all face trials and tribulations and it is the manner with which we choose to face these that is the measure of our faith and the ensuing peace that is brought in to our lives.
This year’s theme for International Peace Day as stated by the U.N. is “The Sustainable Development Goals: Building Blocks for Peace.” The Costa Rica Team is currently working with a project that is dedicated to environmentally conscious development practices. If you are interested in how you can get involved, please contact us.
For International Day of Peace 2016, Charles Boyd and everyone at the Costa Rica Team sends out gratitude and hope at what we can achieve collectively when we allow our creator to work in our lives.
